COOK AND SMILE

Solar cooking: it’s easy as pie!

Did you know...?

Solar cooking has been around since 1767 (when it was invented by Franco-Swiss aristocrat Horace de Saussure). For several years, various associations (e.g. Bolivia Inti, Solar Cooker international) have been developing solar cooking in Africa, Latin America and Southern Asia. Yet it is little known globally: only 1% of the world’s population is aware of its existence.
Solar cooking is a different way of cooking. It means discovering a new way of living in harmony with nature. If there is sunshine, why not take make the most of it!

How do you use solar cooking?

Simply by using your black-coloured utensils, cooking pot, grill, frying pan, wok etc.

How does it work?

There are 3 forms of solar cooking:

COOKUP INOX solar barbecue

Solar cooking and solar barbecues / grills

The COOKUP INOX solar barbecue works on the principle of focussing the sun's rays. With its parabolic shape, all of the sun's energy is focussed on to the food being cooked. With no smoke or CO2 emissions, you'll be using free, environmentally friendly energy.

SUNCOOK solar cooker

Solar cookers for solar cooking

The SUNCOOK+ solar cooker works on solar energy. The sun's rays are focussed inside the oven, the temperature gradually rising and heating your food. Just as with a conventional oven, you should allow 20-30 minutes' pre-heating time. The gradual heating allows unsupervised slow cooking.

Solar cooking kit

The solar cooking kit runs on solar energy. It combines two types of cooking: solar reflection with the sun’s rays being focussed on the inside of the cooker to heat your creation and the cooking bag allowing a gradual rise in temperature for optimum cooking.
